A note from the Indianapolis Department of Public Works:

We believe that you or your organization may be interested in providing important public feedback on proposed updates to both the Indianapolis Stormwater Manual as well as various sections of the Code of the Consolidated City and County for Indianapolis—Marion County. These proposed changes will be the first major revision to stormwater infrastructure regulation language and design standards in almost a decade. Staff for the Indianapolis Department of Public Works (Indy DPW) recommend changes in seven different sections of the City-County Code and in chapters 100-700 of the Indianapolis Stormwater Manual; documents demonstrating each proposed change in language are posted at the top of this page: indy.gov/activity/public-works-specifications-and-manuals

In order to better explain the proposed changes and answer questions, Indy DPW stormwater staff invites you to join either of two WebEx webinar presentations next week on this topic. Each presentation will include a general overview of the proposed changes and what they could mean for Indianapolis. Staff will be listening for feedback from the public at this time and will also take questions during the presentation using the WebEx chat feature. However, given the time constraints of the meeting, participants are encouraged to email their questions ahead of time to ben.easley@indy.gov in order to make sure a specific topic is addressed during the webinar.

Click the respective link below up to five minutes before the time listed to access the virtual seminar:

  • Wednesday, September 16, from 3pm—4pm: WebEx Link; Event number: 173 547 6936; Password: Stormwater
  • Thursday, September 17, from 9am—10am: WebEx Link; Event number: 173 892 5886; Password: Stormwater

We are asking industry stakeholders and the public at large to review all proposed changes and to formally record their comments using the form below by Friday, September 25. Staff will review all feedback and may make appropriate edits to Indy DPW’s proposed changes before introduction to the Board of Public Works and/or City-County Council processes. Comments can be made on proposed language in any specific section of the stormwater manual or the City-County Code using this feedback form.

For questions on any of these processes, or for special accommodations in submitting feedback please contact ben.easley@indy.gov.
