The Cincinnati State Technical and Community College Land Surveying program is seeking industry employers and licensed land surveyors who have an influence on hiring land surveying employees to participate in a research study.

With their new Surveying degree program now open, the study will examine what hiring managers are looking for new graduates from an applied baccalaureate degree program to know. The college will take the information to help shape the future of the program.

An applied baccalaureate degree is based on a curriculum incorporating both theory and applied knowledge and skills in a specific technical field, whereas a traditional university baccalaureate degree relies on traditional academic pedagogy with an emphasis on theory and a skill set that will allow for the analysis of a wide range of problems.

Your participation would involve a 10-15 minute online survey. An optional follow-up interview would last no longer than 30 minutes.

If you do not personally hire or have an influence on hiring land surveying employees, please forward this notice to the appropriate person or people within your company.

Please read this Informed Consent document, then click here if you are willing to participate.

For additional information about this study, contact principal investigator Carol Morman by phone at (513) 569-1770 or email at
