The Lake County Surveyor's Office wants professional input on the county's storm water ordinance.

Many surveyors and engineers have complained to the county office about the restrictions and requirements for one- and two-lot subdivisions, and that the ordinance overall is out of date.

Any surveyors or engineers who can highlight and address issues you have with the ordinance are asked to email them to Lake County Surveyor Bill Emerson, Jr. PE (emerson@lakecountyin.org) and Surveying Administrator Juan J. Lopez, Jr. (lopezjx@lakecountyin.org).

Public comments are due by Friday, Feb. 28, 2020. As of Feb. 14, no comments had been received.

The County will start the process of updating the ordinance on March 4 in consultation with Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd., DLZ and American Structurepoint.
