DNR's biennial flood preparedness and hazard mitigation conference returns this year.

The Division of Water's 9th "Operation: Stay Afloat" Conference will be held in the Conference Center at Indiana Government Center South (402 W. Washington St., Indianapolis) on March 18.

This year's conference feature new tools to assist local officials working toward a more resilient community, updates and basics of the National Flood Insurance Program, and information on planning community infrastructure in light of increased rainfall amounts.

Organizers say the conference will have lots of good information for insurance agents, realtors, engineers, surveyors and other professionals.

If you work at a multi-service firm, the conference has been pre-approved for 6 PDHs for Professional Engineers, 6 PEM credits for Professional Emergency Managers and 6 CECs for Certified Floodplain Managers.
