About Us – ISPLS Goals



ISPLS Goals Established November 5, 2005

  1. Leadership Support and Development
        * Develop a mentoring program for future leaders within the profession.
        * Establish a "Past-Presidents Council".
        * Encourage the active involvement of board members in chapter relations.

  2. Legislative Involvement
        * Reactivate legislative response system.
        * Support an active lobbyist.
        * Assess the possibility of providing support for the Board of Registration.
        * Be proactive in legislation.

  3. Community Service
        * Encourage and recognize volunteer service.
        * Organization involvement in public service projects.
        * Support individual involvement in service organizations.

  4. Communication
        * Improve and expand the use of the Internet.
        * Become aggressive with the role of public relations activities.
        * Continued improvement of the Hoosier Surveyor.
        * Enhance the promotion of TrigStar.

  5. Membership
        * Aggressively target new members.
        * Research and improve the benefits of membership.
        * Reach out to past members.
        * Appropriately honor and recognize current members.

  6. Education
        * Create a "talking point" packet for career day presenters.
        * Package individual seminars into a set of meaningful series.
        * Leverage education offerings with communication initiatives to build public awareness.

  7. Organization Advancement
        * Assess strategic objectives on a regular basis.
        * Network and collaborate with other professional organizations.
        * Pursue involvement on a national scale.
